During the past six weeks I have started from scratch downloading Zen Cart 1.3.8a and modifying it to fit my needs with mod add-ons and making changes, etc. However, it does it have its limitations.

(Specifically adding attributes to products and having a unique product ID and/or SKU for it, plus any attribute logic you might want for changing SELECT lists based on other SELECTS, as in choosing one option will affect what is available for other options, etc.)

So, with great surprise and anticipation I stumbled across what is to the next great release of Zen Cart in the form of version 2.0.

When is it really *expected* to be released? In the meantime I am content to stay with what I have until enough revenue is generated to be able to afford an upgrade to ZC v2.0 after it is released.

That’s because the next time around I want to be able to have someone else (a developer) do all the work rather than spend countless hours hacking and figuring out the internal workings to get what I want and need in format and function.

For now I am settling for the Retro Web Look and Feel, but would like to be have to have all the Flash and Pizazz (pun intended, lol) at some point. As my web site is an online store for edgy T-shirts, it will need to have more impact for eventual greater appeal.

Who is my biggest competitor (besides everyone at the moment because I’m just starting, lol) would be TshirtHell.com - and they have a very whiz-bang look and feel. As my budget is *VERY* limited at the moment, that’s okay. Some day soon enough I hope to be able to compete on a web presence and format level, but until then it is what it is.

I’m just trying to do all that I can with my limited skill sets and knowledge of Db’s, scripting, HTML, CSS, etc. as a starting point…

Well, I ramble on but you should the gist of what I’d like. In the meantime, do you have any recommendations?

    Looking forward to your reply,

    Chris Lemke

Chris; launch your store using Zen Cart 1.3.8 and then upgrade to 2.0.0 after it’s been tested.

If you need any other help please let us know. Best wishes,
